Rapid prototyping: Ailaa

Overview

I stepped into this project after first user interviews were already conducted and ideas for different SaaS solutions were to be validated in the next step.

The goal was to identify one or two opportunities to develop for an Oetker group company that is specialized in data and information processing and was looking for new innovative solutions that could be offered to the clients.

Idea scribbles for user interviews
I drafted six ideas in process or benefit scribbles that we discussed with customers.
We evaluated all ideas based on set criteria defined with the client team and morphed some ideas together to the final one, Ailaa – Automatic IT Landscape Analyzer and Advisor.
Understand customer jobs, pains and gains
In collaboration with the client we conducted an on-site workshop, inviting cyber security experts for interviews and to gather their input to potential features to help complete our empathy map that was already filled with insights from our customer interviews.
In this workshop we defined features and priorities for our first prototype.
Figma prototype
My main task was to build the first prototype that could be used for further idea iterations in interviews and user tests. As systems and IT landscapes are complex structures, it took us several months and many iterations with experts to dive deep enough into the topic and to identify how we could best create value.
The concept work for this prototype included wireframes for the onboarding of customers and components defining the look of the first screen designs of the main user flows.
Marketing material
To promote the new tool to their customers, the client's Sales team asked for support. I designed a one-pager explaining Ailaa that could be used in their communication.
In addition, the client started a small LinkedIn campaign that I created a visual for.
